NORWOOD – First responders were dispatched to Wilson Street this afternoon following a single-vehicle collision.

According to a statement released by the Norwood Police Department, a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a stone wall. Police and Fire units responded immediately to the site of the accident. Norwood Firefighters performed a “quick extraction” to free the operator from the vehicle. 

Traffic was diverted temporarily while crews worked to remove the damaged vehicle and clear debris from the scene. Authorities confirmed that the driver was transported to a local hospital, however the operator’s injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

The Norwood Police Department has not yet released the cause of the accident. -RD
