NORWOOD – The holiday season is arriving in South Norwood with a side of syrup this year, as the Balch Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) prepares to host its annual Pancake Breakfast.

Scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, the event invites families, neighbors, and alumni to fill the cafeteria at 1170 Washington Street for a morning of community, crafts, and holiday cheer.

The breakfast, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., offers a warm respite from the December chill. For an admission fee of just $7 per person, attendees will be treated to a hearty meal featuring pancakes, sausages, and juice. For those looking to warm up even further, coffee and hot chocolate will be available for purchase.

However, the main attraction isn’t just the food: it is the distinguished guests. The Balch PTO has confirmed that Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be making a special stop in Norwood to visit with children and pose for photos.

In addition, the admission price includes access to seasonal kid’s crafts, keeping the little ones entertained while parents catch up with neighbors.

As this is a key fundraiser for the school, the event will also feature raffle baskets, offering attendees a chance to win local prizes while supporting student enrichment programs. All proceeds from the door and the raffles go directly toward supporting Balch Elementary students and staff.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to get a good seat and enjoy the festivities. -RD
