NORWOOD – The Town of Norwood recently announced a partnership with Mass Save – Community First program designed to save Norwood residents money and energy. In fact, Norwood is one of 58 communities that were selected for 2025-2027 program.
Mass Save provides homeowners, landlords, and renters with access to no-cost Home Energy Assessments that can identify energy weaknesses and potentially opportunities for upgrades like insulation and heat pumps.
According to the towns energy advocate, Julie Barbour-Issa, just under 500 Norwood households received no-cost Home Energy Assessments and 174 homes were insulated last year. “We’ve had many residents reach out to lower their energy usage and make their home more efficient” Barbour-Issa said in a Facebook post announcing the program. “I’m always happy to help connect residents to rebate programs and learn about income-eligible programs.”
A focus of the new partnership between the town and Mass Saves is to increase participation among renters, landlords, and low- and moderate-income households.
Residents can request a no-cost Home Energy Assessment by visiting hwe.works/Norwood or by calling Julie Barbour-Issa, at (781) 390-9913.
