NORWOOD – Norwood Fire Department responded to Pleasant St this week after a set of wires were brought down by a commercial vehicle. Pictures of the scene provided by NFD depicted damage to the pole, a nearby structure and a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported at the time.
This latest incident is no surprise to local residents since Pleasant Street is heavily trafficked by over-sized commercial vehicles during the day. Norwood Police and Light department was on scene and the road was shut down for much of the day.
In a Facebook post, Norwood Fire Department encouraged motorists to avoid the area until Norwood Light crews were able to clear the road and complete their repairs.
Pleasant Street has since reopened and service was restored. -RD
