In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said they’re investigating the airplane that slid off the runway last week. According to FAA Public Affairs Specialist, Crystal Essiaw the “Cirrus SR22 drifted into a swampy area at Norwood Memorial Airport in Massachusetts while the pilot was attempting a propeller start.”
The incident happened at 7:30 a.m. on September 17. According to records, the Cirrus SR22 is a fixed wing, single engine five-seat composite aircraft built by Cirrus Aircraft. The plane involved in this incident was manufactured in 2005 and owned by a company called Kalila, LLC out of Weston, Massachusetts. The owners could not be reached for comment.
