NORWOOD – A suspected road rage incident on Washington Street escalated into a physical assault outside a local pharmacy on Walpole Street, according to Norwood police radio transmissions.
On August 26 2026 at about 6:30pm Norwood Police dispatch center received a 911 call from a female driver reporting that another vehicle had been “brake checking” her repeatedly while driving on Washington Street. Both vehicles subsequently pulled into the parking lot of the Walgreens located at 469 Walpole St.
According to the police scanner, the confrontation turned physical after both drivers exited their vehicles. A male driver reportedly shoved the female caller to the ground before heading inside the pharmacy.
While inside, the suspect retrieved a prescription and allegedly exited through the store’s rear entrance towards Wilson Street. Witnesses inside the Walgreens confirmed the sequence of events to dispatchers.
The suspect is described as a white male operating a white pickup truck. He was reportedly accompanied by two other white males at the time of the incident.
Norwood Police dispatched officers to search the vicinity of Walpole and Wilson Streets and are actively investigating the situation. Anyone with information or security footage from the area is encouraged to contact the Norwood Police Department. -RD
