NORWOOD – A Norwood man was arrested early Sunday morning, following a disturbance call that alleged a physical assault and a threat with what the victim believed to be a firearm. 45 year old Christopher Davis, a resident of The Crossings apartment complex located at 140 Railroad Avenue, faces criminal charges of Assault and Battery and Assault by a Dangerous Weapon after a meet-up arranged via a “swingers website” turned violent.

At approximately 1:43 a.m., on December 14, police say officers were dispatched to 140 Railroad Ave. after a caller reported being physically thrown out of an apartment and threatened with a handgun. Upon arrival, police met with the reporting party, identified in the police report as Jordan.

Police say the altercation stemmed from a social arrangement made earlier that evening. Jordan told officers he had met Davis and his partner, Erica on a “swingers website” and was invited to their apartment on Railroad Ave. for a sexual encounter, police say.

The police report details that they engaged in consensual sexual activity at the apartment before leaving together to visit a local bar. The group later returned to the Railroad Ave. apartment to continue the evening.

Jordan stated that while Erica was briefly in the bathroom, Davis became visibly upset for reasons that remain unclear. Jordan alleged that Davis produced a black handgun from his waistband and pointed it at Jordan’s head. Jordan says he shouted, “Shoot me, shoot me,” while the weapon was pointed at him.

The report indicates that Davis then tucked the weapon away, grabbed Jordan by the chest and shirt collar, and aggressively threw him out of the apartment.

While officers were interviewing the victim in the foyer, Jordan identified Davis walking toward a vehicle in the parking lot. Police approached Davis as he entered his car and detained him.

During questioning, Davis reportedly admitted to owning an airsoft replica handgun and using it during the incident, police say. While he denied pointing the weapon directly at Jordan, he admitted to having it on his person while removing Jordan from the apartment, according to the report. Davis repeatedly referred to the victim as a “weirdo” and told officers “I have to protect my family,” though he could not definitively explain what instigated the argument and subsequent removal.

According to court records, police then spoke with Erica, who confirmed the timeline of events—including the initial meeting, the trip to the bar, and the return to the apartment. According to her, Erica says she was in the bathroom during the alleged altercation and did not witness the physical struggle, police say.

During a search of the apartment and their vehicles, police located a black and silver airsoft handgun hidden behind a couch cushion in the living room. The item was seized and photographed as evidence.

Christopher Davis was transported to Norwood Police Department Headquarters and booked on the following charges: Assault and Battery (MGL Chap 265 Sect. 13A), Assault by Dangerous Weapon (MGL Chap 265 Sect. 15B). He was arraigned in Dedham District Court and is due back in court early next year.

Christopher Davis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The information contained in this article was taken from the Norwood Police report and subsequent court filings. -RD
