NORWOOD – Mark your calendars, Norwood! The town’s Public Works Department is holding another Household Hazardous Waste and Recycling Day on September 27th.
Scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Winter Street Recycling Facility, located at 370 Winter Street, this event provides an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of waste that cannot be placed in regular trash or recycling. Examples include drain cleaners, art and craft supplies, household cleaners, oil & lead-based paints, rust removers, wood strippers paint thinners, solvents, car fluids.
Residents should be aware that fees may be associated with certain materials, including the following:
* Hazardous waste (per carload)
* Electronics such as microwaves, computer towers, laptops, TVs, and monitors
* Appliances like refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, and air conditioners
* Tires (with and without rims)
* Propane tanks and other small tanks
* Document shredding
Payment for these items must be made by check, payable to the Town of Norwood. It is important to note that no brush or leaves will be accepted during hazardous waste day.
