NORWOOD – It’s almost time to ring in the season. The Town of Norwood is preparing to transform the common into a winter wonderland for one of our most cherished annual traditions. The Holiday Extravaganza, featuring the beloved Santa Claus parade and tree lighting, is set to return this Sunday, November 30th.

Festivities will kick off at 1:30 p.m. and run until 4:30 p.m., promising an afternoon packed with holiday cheer for residents of all ages.

According to the Town of Norwood’s official announcement, this year’s schedule is designed to keep the community bustling with activity. Families can look forward to traditional favorites, including horse-drawn hayrides and arts and crafts stations for the kids. The air will be filled with the sounds of the season, courtesy of local musical choirs performing throughout the event, alongside cozy readings of classic holiday stories.

The highlight for many, of course, will be the parade itself. The procession is scheduled to march from Guild Square down to the Town Common, bringing a wave of excitement through the center of town.

The afternoon culminates in the main event: the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. The festive duo will make their grand entrance at the Town Common to officially flip the switch on the holiday lights, illuminating the common and marking the true start of the holiday season in Norwood.

Residents are encouraged to follow the recreation department on social media for any last-minute updates as the weekend approaches. So bundle up, grab a hot cocoa, and get ready to welcome the holidays in true Norwood style. -RD
