NORWOOD – A 19-year-old Norwood resident has been arrested in connection with an alleged carjacking that shook the community in October, the Norwood Police Department announced Wednesday.

Albi Sanchez faces multiple felony charges, including armed carjacking, after detectives linked him to the incident that occurred earlier this fall, police say.

On December 10, 2025, Norwood Police took Sanchez into custody following a nearly two-month investigation into the October 18th carjacking.

Following the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at Sanchez’s residence at 3104 Village Road West in Norwood. Police have not yet disclosed if any evidence related to the crime was recovered during the search.

Police accuse Sanchez of several offences that reflect the violent nature of the alleged crime including carjacking while armed with a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and masked armed robbery.

The specific details regarding the victim or the stolen vehicle have not been released at this time.

In a statement released to the public, the department highlighted the effort required to bring the suspect into custody.

“We commend the outstanding work of our Norwood Detectives whose dedication and persistence led to this arrest,” the department said in a statement. “As always, we sincerely thank our community for your continued support and partnership.”

Sanchez is expected to be arraigned in Dedham District Court, where he will formally face the charges against him. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. -RD
