NORWOOD – Local authorities are investigating an early-morning theft at a convenience store on the Boston Providence Highway involving a group of individuals on scooters.
According to Norwood Police dispatch radio, officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at 69 Boston Providence Highway at approximately 3:28 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Initial reports indicated that three individuals riding scooters entered the establishment and stole various items, including food and alcohol. Subsequent updates from the caller revealed the group was larger, consisting of six individuals, described as three males and three females.
All six suspects were reportedly wearing hoodies and half-masks to conceal their identities during the incident.
Following the theft, the group fled the location on scooters, heading north on Route 1 toward the Westwood town line.
No injuries were immediately reported, and police have not yet released additional details regarding the specific value of the stolen goods or potential suspect identification.
